AgYield NextGen Scholarship Competition
Registration for the 2nd annual AgYield NextGen Scholarship Competition is now open! This competition brings together college students studying agriculture from all over the country and puts their grain marketing skills to test! Last year the Foundation awarded FIVE scholarship recipients with the grand champion winning over $12K towards his education!
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: February 5th, 2027
COMPETITION BEGINS: Spring Semester 2027
(official date coming soon!)
HERE’S HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS:
The competition is centered around the AgYield Simulator, our proprietary educational platform that simulates a 36-week growing season
Students will handle the agribusiness side of a simulated corn and soybean farm, reacting to market conditions, USDA reports, and weather—think grain marketing & risk management meets fantasy football.
Whoever can respond to market dynamics and become the most profitable at the end of the season will win REAL money towards their ag education!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
This scholarship competition is strictly for college students (undergraduate AND postgraduate) in accredited agricultural programs.
-
The AgYield Simulator is an online platform that simulates a full 36-week growing season. Once you have been accepted into the competition our team will reach out regarding how to set up your simulator account.
-
The most profitable farms at the end of the simulation will be crowned The AgYield NextGen Scholarship recipients. Last year we awarded five of our top performers, but this year’s number could increase based on participation.
-
The competition itself will run for 2 and a half weeks in real time. While the simulator is based on a 36-week growing season, the simulator progresses one simulated week every 12 hours.
-
The competition itself is 100% online, however should you end up being awarded a scholarship it is required of you to join us for a award ceremony in the Summer 2027.
-
The Scholarship competition is completely free for applicants!
-
Last year we gave away $30,000 dollars of scholarships to our top performers!
While the exact numbers for this year’s competition aren’t finalized, The Foundation is looking to make the biggest impact possible based on merit and participation—so the more students that sign up, means more scholarship recipients, which means more money to give away!
